After use, wash with warm water and dish soap like any wooden cutting board, after washing dry immediately with a towel and let it air dry standing up or on a raised rack with air flow.
When the surface feels dry and/or discolored apply “Cutting board wax and conditioner” or any product especially made to be used on cutting boards such as food-safe mineral oil or beeswax based creams.
Make sure the board is completely dry after washing before applying “Cutting board wax and conditioner” or any product especially made to be used on cutting boards. Methods of applying may vary with different products therefore follow their instructions.
Don’t:
Do not put your cutting board in the dishwasher because the heat and water will warp and splinter the wood.
Do not put your cutting board in the microwave, boards have metal screws in the feet also might dry out very quickly.
Do not dunk or let the board in stand in water. The wood will absorb water and can warp, crack, twist or bow, or all of these at once.
Do not use as conditioner any vegetable oil, olive oil, peanut oil, walnut oil, sesame oil, teak oil, corn oil, bleach, alcohols or cleaning solvents they will eventually oxidized and go rancid.
